\nMasayo Kajimura : \u00ab\u00a0Folding stories into water\u00a0\u00bb<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Masayo Kajimura<\/b> est une artiste japonaise et allemande qui se consacre notamment \u00e0 la vid\u00e9o, n\u00e9e \u00e0 Berlin en 1976, qui vit et travaille \u00e0 Berlin. Elle r\u00e9alise des films exp\u00e9rimentaux,\u00a0\u00a0des installations vid\u00e9os et des projets collaboratifs dans les domaines de la danse et de la musique.\u00a0Ses compositions po\u00e9tiques d\u2019images rapprochent des nivaux de r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ordinairement s\u00e9par\u00e9s. Des fragments de r\u00e9cit, des sc\u00e8nes et des souvenirs sont tiss\u00e9s en un mouvement \u00e0 la fois temporel et spatial. Le d\u00e9placement de l\u2019eau est un th\u00e8me constant de son travail et la tactilit\u00e9 de ses images r\u00e9v\u00e8le un imaginaire qui replace la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 dans un continuum plus vaste.<\/p>\n

Depuis 2010, elle travaille au projet\u00a0Aqua Ephemera<\/i><\/b>\u00a0qui traite l\u2019eau sous diverses apparences, \u00e0 partir de sa facult\u00e9 de d\u00e9placement. En 2012, avec Maiko Date, chor\u00e9graphe et danseuse, elle a entrepris le projet de vid\u00e9o-danse\u00a0Between Islands<\/i>\u00a0qui d\u00e9veloppe l\u2019histoire d\u2019un voyage sur l\u2019oc\u00e9an, suivant des\u00a0\u00a0mod\u00e8les de d\u00e9placement qui int\u00e8grent leurs propres exp\u00e9riences de la migration.\u00a0Dans cette conf\u00e9rence, Masayo Kajimura pr\u00e9sente ses \u0153uvres dans le contexte des \u00e9v\u00e9nements r\u00e9cents au Japon, \u00e0 propos de l\u2019eau et de sa condition de membre de la \u00ab\u00a0diaspora\u00a0\u00bb qui a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une relation sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e de traditions culturelles et de sa r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation.<\/p>\n

Masayo Kajimura<\/strong>\u00a0(born1976 in Berlin\/Germany) is a Japanese-German video artist who lives and works in Berlin. Masayo Kajimura makes experimental films, videoinstallations, and collaborative projects with dance and music. Her poetic and associative composition of video images has been described as folding layers of reality, bringing distant elements together. Fragments of stories, scenes, and memories are woven into a temporal and spatial movement. The migration of water is a continuous theme in her work, and the tactility of her images evokes an imagination that positions reality in a greater continuum.<\/p>\n

Since 2010 she has been working on the ongoing project \u201cAQUA EPHEMERA\u201d<\/strong>, that deals with water in its different forms of appearance and its migrating quality. In 2012 she started the video dance project \u201cbetween islands\u201d with choreographer and dancer Maiko Date, where the two artists have been developing the story of an ocean journey along movement patterns, integrating their own experiences of migration. In this lecture, Masayo Kajimura will present her works against the backdrop of the current events in Japan, relating to the element of water, and positioning herself as a diasporic person, who has developed a specific relation to the idea of cultural traditions and its re-imagination.<\/p>\n
